Data acquisition from the air

In order to meet the steadily increasing demand for project planning and the associated technical planning in the area of land development, INconnect relies on the most advanced surveying technology. In this course, a universally applicable surveying drone with different lenses was acquired in October. As a result, we can now offer cross-sector solutions for the construction, industry, historic preservation, architecture, agriculture and energy sectors.

Drone with GPS surveying station

By using the UAS (="Unmanned Aircraft System") we are now able to take orthophotos with highest precision and quality. The performance of this system is not only evident in the representation of existing structures, which are imaged with a resolution of 2 pixels per centimeter, but also in the enormous area coverage of up to 15 km², which can be achieved in a single working day. As a result, we collect measurement data for the actual planning and can also offer monitoring and documentation of the entire construction progress for our customers through further aerial surveys of the area.

In addition to these simple overflights - for the primary mapping of the areas - a lidar scanner can be used. The laser scanner makes it possible to create elevation profiles of the overflown terrain, even in densely forested areas. Despite these difficult conditions, the scanner is characterized by a vertical and horizontal precision of +/- 2 cm. Furthermore, inventories of accumulated materials from landfills, quarries or cement plants as well as various volume and area calculations are possible. For this purpose, the 240,000 pixels/s captured by the lidar lens are processed into a 3D point cloud model, which makes the measurement and calculation of areas many times more precise. Optionally, further technical visualizations such as a color-matched elevation model are possible.

Radiometric thermal imaging for the energy and agricultural sectors

A central application of this technology is in the inspection of solar and photovoltaic systems. Through the temperature differences revealed, it is possible to identify defective or no longer fully functional panels and thus issue maintenance recommendations. This service can be performed on single and multi-family houses as well as for complete solar and photovoltaic parks. Likewise, a thermal analysis can be used to provide energy advice on buildings, as the thermal imaging camera makes it easy to detect thermal bridges.

Further concerning the energy and communication sector, high voltage lines, transmission towers, wind power plants or pipelines can be visualized comfortably. Here, visual inspections of weld seams and joints, which are carried out at regular intervals, play a particularly important role.
The data acquired during the initial flight serves as a starting point for comparing the relevant area of a defined flight route at individually timed intervals on the basis of further, more recent images, thus enabling any deviations to be identified.

In the field of agriculture and forestry, tree stands can be conveniently analyzed and changes in vegetation can be observed. These consistent results are also obtained by means of flight routes that have been defined once and can be flown over as often as required. In times of increasingly extreme weather conditions, we are also able to detect potential forest fire hazards at an early stage and initiate appropriate measures. In the course of this, the detection of infested pest areas is also effortlessly possible.
